“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that yours sins may be blotted out…[for] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. (Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9).

To repent means to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one’s life or the changing one’s attitude from bad to good. Acts 5:31 says ‘God exalted Jesus to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.’ God calls his people unto repentance and turn from the wicked ways of this world  because the end is near (Matthew 4:17). when we call upon Him, He is faithful and Just to cleanse us of all and sins and make us whole again (1 John 1:9).

So God asks us in Acts 3:19 to repent, then, and turn to God, so that our sins can be wiped out, and the time of refreshing may come from the Lord.

we are warned in Revelation 3:3 that if we refuse to harken to what we have heard and received according to repentance, Christ will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time he will come to you which may lead to eternal condemnation.

essence of the coming of Christ was to bring sinners to himself  and work with him with the help of the Holy Spirit in bringing others to the knowledge of the love of God (Acts 2:38).

Use this opportunity to confess your sins and accept that you need Christ in your life in order to receive the free gift of life which is Christ Jesus. You can not succeed in this life alone. He is knocking at your door  let him come and dine with you(Revelation 3:20).
